Gentile
Gentile refers to non-Israelites, and collectively designates the peoples and nations as distinct from the Israelite people.
Linguistics
The term is sometimes used as a translation of the Hebrew word gôy (^ [[Strong's](Strong's_Concordance)\ #1471]^) in the King James Version of the Bible.^[1]^ In the New Testament the Greek word ethnos (^ [[Strong's](Strong's_Concordance)\ #1484]^) is used more specifically to indicate non-Jews.
