Wickedness

Wickedness may be defined as "departure from the rules of the divine law; evil disposition or practices; immorality; crime; sin; sinfulness; corrupt manners. Wickedness generally signifies evil practices." [1]

Biblical passages

  • The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Gen. 6:4-6)
  • As the proverb of the ancients says, 'Out of the wicked comes wickedness.' But my hand shall not be against you. (1 Samuel 24:12-14)
  • Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. (Psalm 106:5-7)
  • And when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he shall live by them. (Ezekiel 33:18-20)
